09/04/2017Service update - QLD and Northern NSW
Monday, 10 April 2017: Our services in affected areas have resumed and are back to normal. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Thursday, 6 April 2017: Service has recommenced in Grafton and Lismore. However, delays are expected due to the backlog of freight which will be cleared over the next few days.
Flood waters are expected to peak this afternoon in Rockhampton, causing service delays.
Tusday, 4 April 2017: Linehaul services between Sydney and Brisbane have resumed and are running smoothly. We are also operating trucks from our Brisbane depot to north Queensland (Townsville, Mackay, Cairns, etc). However, there are backlogs to clear and some outer metro areas are also not accessible during this time due to road closures.
While we are getting trucks down to Tweed Heads, deliveries are not able to be completed due to the situation on the road. Grafton is currently being serviced with some outlying areas remaining out of reach due to flooding. Our hub at Lismore is not operational yet.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Monday, 3 April 2017: While our QLD depot is back in operation, deliveries are being slowed down and affected due to road closures. In Northern NSW, floodwaters continue to impact our deliveries.
Friday, 31 March 2017: Our QLD depot is back in operation and pickups and deliveries have resumed for Brisbane and its surrounding areas. However, there are still some delays due to localised flooding. Linehaul services to Mackay, Townsville and Cairns will also resume from today.
Deliveries in Northern NSW continue to be impacted due to heavy floodwaters.
Thursday, 30 March 2017: Due to severe weather conditions and flash flooding in south-east Queensland, there will be no pickups and deliveries in Brisbane and surrounding areas. Deliveries in North Queensland will also be limited due to the deteriorating conditions.
While some trucks have been despatched this morning in Brisbane, completion of their pickups and deliveries will depend on the conditions out on the road.
Deliveries in areas serviced out of Lismore and Grafton (NSW) have been impacted as well. Byron Bay has been serviced this morning, but we will not be able to return or go further up. Copmanhurst and its surrounding areas are expected to be out of reach tomorrow. Grafton, Maclean and Yamba are accessible for now.
AirRoad takes the safety of its staff very seriously and our priority is to ensure that our drivers are safe at all times. We thank you for your understanding and will update the page as conditions improve.
Monday, 27 March 2017: Due to the impending cyclone in North Queensland, pickups and deliveries will be affected. Very strong winds are expected to hit the coastline from Lucinda through to St Lawrence, with Townsville, Ayr and Bowen likely to be severely affected.
Please note that there will be no pickups or deliveries done in Bowen 4805 or Ayr 4807 today. Linehaul services to Mackay, Townsville and Cairns have also been suspended till further notice.
We appreciate your patience and our thoughts are with those that have been affected by Cyclone Debbie.
This article will be updated once services resume and are back to normal.
