24/11/2022: Delays in Darwin, WA and Central NSW

Update: 24 November 2022

Dear Valued Client,
Please note that we are experiencing delays in the following areas.

  • Darwin: Services both to and from Darwin ex Sydney are being impacted. Heavy rainfall across north-west NSW has resulted in the Mitchell Highway at Bourke being closed to traffic from yesterday. Floodwaters have been covering the road for several days and daylight travel only for heavy vehicles under escort has been in place for that time.
As a work around, our vehicles will be routed via Goondiwindi and Roma. This alternative route adds some 200 kms to the trip, which will lead to delays. There is no timeline currently as to when the Mitchell Highway will reopen, and we are continuing to monitor the situation.
  • WA: We are continuing to experience delays in WA as per our last update.
  • Deliveries in Central NSW: Conditions have improved and we have resumed deliveries where we can. However, some areas are still inaccessible. Delays are expected as we continue to clear any backlogs.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team.

17 November 2022.

Dear Valued Client,

Please note that we are currently experiencing delays in the following areas:

  • Deliveries in and out of WA: Due to derailment and flooding, extra linehaul capacity within the industry has been greatly reduced and is expected to continue for the next 2-3 weeks. This is impacting our service into WA as we clear the additional volumes of freight in the lead up to the holiday season. Note that our usual linehaul services in and out of WA are continuing as normal. However, detours, reduced linehaul resources and diversions are causing delays. Currently, delays are expected.
  • Deliveries in Central NSW: Flooding has impacted several areas in Central West NSW, with deliveries either delayed or cancelled due to road closures and floodwaters. These include, but are not limited to:
    • Forbes
    • Corowra
    • Lightning Ridge
    • Bathurst
    • Orange
    • Parkes

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will resume service once it safe to do so.

As always, we thank you for your support.

Regards,
The AirRoad Team.
