February 7 2025: Service Update – Far North QLD

February 6 & 7 2025

Cairns

Please note that we are unable to get our linehaul service into Cairns at this stage due to flooding and road closures. Delays are expected.

Townsville & Mackay

Conditions in Townsville have improved although some areas remain affected by localised flooding. We anticipate that most deliveries will be completed today. Our service in Mackay has been restored back to normal.

Wednesday. February 5 2025.

Please see the update below regarding service disruption due to adverse weather in Far North QLD.

Cairns

Service in Cairns remains impacted by flood conditions. While the road briefly reopened yesterday afternoon, it has since been closed again due to further flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation and will resume pickups/deliveries as soon as it is safe to do so. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Townsville

The majority of freight from our Friday linehaul departure (ex Brisbane) has been delivered today. A small number of deliveries are pending due to temporary business closures. Notes have been added to these consignments.

Our scheduled Monday and Tuesday departures are expected to arrive later today. We anticipate a return to normal service operations by tomorrow. A small backlog is expected.

Mackay

Our Mackay service has resumed and is operating as usual. We thank you for your continued support.

Tuesday. February 4 2025.

Please be advised that due to severe weather conditions, the scheduled Brisbane service to Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns did not depart last night.

Whilst our trailer is loaded and ready to travel, departure will be delayed until road conditions are deemed safe.

Mackay

Heavy rainfall is impacting Mackay, with the depot potentially closing for the day. We anticipate that service will resume tomorrow, conditions permitting.

Townsville

Persistent heavy rain continues to affect Townsville, and road access remains restricted. We are expecting that the road from Mackay will reopen this afternoon.

Cairns

Pending deliveries in Cairns will be completed today. The road closure from Townsville and the flooded bridge at Charters Towers continue to prevent Townsville departures via the alternate route. We are monitoring the situation and anticipate potential changes this afternoon.

All staff at the Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns branches have been confirmed safe and well.

We will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves. As always, we appreciate your patience and support.

Monday. February 3 2025.

Cairns

Cairns depot is operating as usual today.

Mackay/Townsville

A linehaul unit dispatched from our Brisbane depot on Friday evening has been delayed due to road closures caused by flooding and bridge damage. This was successfully unloaded in Mackay but is currently unable to proceed to Townsville. We are actively monitoring the situation and awaiting updates regarding road conditions and alternative routes.

Minimal deliveries are expected in Townsville today. The Townsville depot has experienced minor flooding in the office area, but is otherwise operational. Our Townsville team is contacting all receivers to determine their operating status, given the multiple evacuations in the region.

Weather and Backlog

Rainfall is forecast to ease tomorrow. However, a backlog is expected. We will strive to get all deliveries out once the roads are clear and it is safe for our drivers.

As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Staff Safety

All staff in Cairns and Townsville are safe and well.
